Merger Control

We provide analysis to help obtain merger approvals from Competition Authorities across the globe. Our analysis is submitted in standalone reports and incorporated directly into legal submissions. We also advise clients at the pre-filing stage.

Antitrust

We assist during antitrust investigations relating to horizontal agreements (including cartels), vertical restraints, and abuses of dominant positions. We also help clients evaluate the potential antitrust implications of commercial actions under contemplation.

Antitrust Damages

We provide independent reports and expert testimony in support of damages claims arising from antitrust litigation. We estimate damages using sophisticated statistical and econometric techniques, and critique opposing experts' damages analyses on behalf of our clients.

Disputes and Arbitration

We assist clients through the full litigation lifecycle, including evaluating whether a claim is worth pursuing, identifying the correct approach to calculating economic harm, quantifying past and expected future damages, preparing economic reports and providing expert testimony.

Policy

We help public sector clients design economic policy, evaluate the past effectiveness of extant policies, and assess the likely impact of policies under contemplation. We also help private sector clients respond to policy consultations and influence policy debates.

Regulation

We advise sector regulators on various regulatory exercises (including tariff determination) and regulatory design. We also advise regulated companies on submissions to regulators.

Our staff have extensive experience in competition, policy and regulation across multiple jurisdictions on several continents.

Our staff have provided support for merger filings in Europe and Asia. We have an especially strong track record in advising on complex Phase II transactions, having advised on Praxair / Linde, Bayer / Monsanto and Schneider / L&T in India; and Sun / Oracle and Invitrogen / Applied Biosystems in Europe.

We have also provided litigation support during several notable antitrust proceedings. We have assisted, among others, Maruti Suzuki India Limited during a resale price maintenance investigation, ACC during its appeal against a cartel infringement decision, Facebook and Uber during predatory pricing proceedings, and Monsanto India during abuse of dominance proceedings.

We have contributed towards non-litigation related competition studies for several European public and private sector clients, in sectors including the legal professions, urban mass transit systems, utilities, cigarettes and education.

In addition, we have carried out numerous impact assessment and policy evaluation studies for clients in India and Europe in the education, transport, telecoms and utilities sectors. We have also undertaken advocacy studies in the European defence, retail, public procurement and sports sectors.
